Attractions in Quezon: Kamay ni Hesus and Kamayan sa Palaisdaan

Spread the love

I hope you read my first entry of our trip to Quezon province. If you haven’t yet, we stayed at Nawawalang Paraiso Resort and Hotel overnight. The resort was perfect for a laid back weekend and family stay cation. We stayed there since it’s near to some attractions in Quezon, Kamay ni Hesus and Kamayan sa Palaisdaan.

Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church

We checked out early at Nawawalang Paraiso Resort and Hotel for 11:30AM mass. Since it’s just a twenty-minute drive from the resort to Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church, we traveled with no hassle. When we arrived, the 10:30am mass was still ongoing. It was raining so the kids stayed in the van while the adults looked for pasalubong and souvenirs near the church.

Easter 2013

Kamay ni Hesus is popular for healing masses. What we noticed is that they generously showered holy water after the mass. It was a whole new experience for us. If you know the tradition “buling buling” in Batangas, it’s almost the same. So imagine our surprise!

It was still pouring, so sadly, we’re not able to climb the steps to the famous statue of Jesus Christ. My kids cannot remember they’d been there already. Of course, they were practically babies and we carried them on our way up few years ago. Hopefully for our next visit, we could try Noah’s ark accommodations and restaurant. From their website, they claimed that they serve healthy menu, and well loved Lucban food and delicacies.

Kamayan sa Palaisdaan

Air Summit Gourmet

We ended our trip with lunch at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan. It has hotel and resort, bar and cafe now. We initially wanted to dine at air summit gourmet but it was full so we transferred to Fisher’s Lake. I already tried Kamayan sa Palaisdaan before and I think Fisher’s Lake was something new. There were tables half-submerged in lake water. You’ll go barefoot for fish spa while having your meal.

According to CDC. GOV, a fish pedicure, also known as a fish spa, involves patrons dipping their feet in a tub of water filled with small fish called Garra rufa. Garra rufa are sometimes referred to as “doctor fish” because they eat away dead skin found on peoples’ feet, leaving newer skin exposed. At Fisher’s Lake, it was Koi fish instead.

If not for the kids, we’ll definitely go for it! We’re just worried that kids will not focus on eating but chasing fishes! It may be a fun experience but not the best time. We’re famished! Good thing, Fisher’s Lake serves local food and Filipino dishes. It was really affordable much to our surprise. Kids loved Kamayan’s Fried Chicken. The adults preferred sinigang na baboy, inihaw na liempo and sizzling sisig pusit. We also ordered lumpiang Shanghai, chopsuey, sugpo and other dishes. We ate at one of the floating kubo, funny how it swayed whenever we did even the slightest movement.

There are still so many attractions in Quezon like Mt. Banahaw, Jomalig Island, Borawan Island, Cagbalete Island and other beaches to explore. Someday when kids are a little bit older, we hope to see you again, beautiful Quezon!
