How To Check SSS Contribution Online
Gone are the days that you have to visit a SSS branch to track member’s monthly SSS contribution. Now that you have an online SSS registered account, you can now view and check your contribution anytime. As some employed members have doubts if their employers really remit the contributions on time.
Why You Should Check Your SSS Contribution?
It is important to verify your monthly premium contributions regularly so that you can make sure that your employer is remitting the correct amount without any delays. According to ECC, “if any contribution is not paid, the employer shall pay besides the contribution a penalty thereon of 3 percent (SSS) or 2 percent (GSIS) a month from the date of the contribution falls due until paid.”
On the other hand, self-employed members can make necessary adjustments once missed or incorrect payments occurs. Take note that you must meet the required minimum monthly contributions to qualify for an SSS loan or benefit.
Benefits of SSS Members
SSS provides death, funeral, maternity leave, permanent disability, retirement, sickness and involuntary separation/unemployment benefits.
Members can make “salary” or “calamity” loans. SSS calculates Salary loans based on a member’s particular monthly salary credit. Calamity loans are for instances when the government has declared a state of calamity in the area where an SSS member lives, following disasters such as flooding and earthquakes.
How To Check Your SSS Contribution Online?
You must have My.SSS account to access and check your SSS contributions. If you are not registered yet, here’s the Steps for Online Registration. Once done, you can now proceed with viewing and checking of your contributions.
Step 1: Visit SSS website
Verify that you are not a robot then click submit. Click “MEMBER” under Portals.
Type-in your USER ID and PASSWORD, verify that you are not a robot then click submit.
If you forgot your User ID or Password, click “Forgot User ID or Password?” and follow the instruction as stated below.
Password expires every ninety (90) days thus you need to change and update regularly.
Step 2: Go to Inquiry Tab and Select Contributions
Step 3: View your monthly SSS contribution
There are three (3) tabs for contributions.
Monthly Contributions – start of your SSS membership up to the current period.
SE/VM Contributions – payments received by SSS since you changed your membership from employed to self-employed or voluntary member.
Flexi-Fund – special provident savings program exclusively open to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
By viewing and checking regularly your monthly contribution, you can determine if your employer consistently remit. Likewise, you can see which months without posted contributions. This may entail that you are unemployed during the months with no postings or your employer did not remit yet.
Thus when you see any discrepancies or inconsistencies in your SSS contribution, ask your HR (if employed) or make immediate corrections (if self-employed) to avoid issues when you apply for a loan or claim a benefit.
How To Check SSS Contribution Thru Mobile App?
Step 1: Download and Install SSS Mobile App using your Smart Phone
Available in Apps Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android Devices.
Step 2: Log-in with your User ID and Password and tap SIGN IN
Step 3: Select “My Contributions” and view your monthly contributions
It’s a bit easier to check your SSS contribution thru mobile app than to check it on website using your browser. I suggest that you download the app from Apple Store or Play Store.
