Neri’s Not So Secret Garden
We have heard a few things from a couple of friends who has been to “Neri’s Not So Secret Garden”. Some said it was not great. Others said it was too shabby. Few mentioned that it was not worth the trip. Reading the reviews from their Facebook page added anxiety and doubts too. But frankly speaking, it was not bad at all.
When we arrived at this place, it was not so secret at all since it is located near the highway road but to think that this was called “Neri’s Not So Secret Garden” greatly piqued our interest with a question why it was called that way.
The food and ambiance
From my own honest opinion, it was not just a place. It is a haven for people who wants to indulge themselves to an indie scenic not so cozy but a really great place to hang out and relax. A variety of street foods will entice your appetite and their “tuyo rice” is too nostalgic to miss. You can also try their “Bulalo” and other delicacies but the “tuyo rice” will always be the best choice from their menu. Their desserts were good as well not to mention their not so generous servings. Price wise, it was not cheap nor expensive. The thing is, as a group, we all agreed that we had a good time and we were stuffed. The “tuyo rice” is really something to go back into.
A place for artists to share music and express their art.
The best part of this place was hearing an acoustic session. It does not matter who plays the guitar or sing, it’s a place for artists to share their music and express their art. Our real main goal was to interact with Neri and Chito themselves but enjoying ourselves in this place was so much more from meeting them. The experience was great enough for us to forget the time and on a weekend like this, this place gets too crowded for you to appreciate but it was a good thing that we came in early and amuse ourselves to what Neri called as her not so secret garden.
Travelling with friends has never been so fun for me before since I barely have time because of work but this time, something occurred to me. This very place reminded me of how to get in touch and render time again with people whom I can call family. It was like a typical “tambayan” where we can chill, give in to acoustic music and be mesmerized by the iconic view of Tagaytay.
