Picturesque Private Rest House in Batangas
In our fast paced life, sometimes we tend not to know when to stop. We get up early in the morning to go to work, and finish all deadlines. Personally, I am working in a manufacturing firm and everything seems urgent. As part of the supply chain management, I need to work like driving in fifth gear. Not to mention the things that truly matter, being a mother, a wife, a breadwinner. So for my birthday, I looked for a place to stop or at least slow things down. Referred by a friend, we went straight to this private rest house and the place is beyond perfect, Tierra Cuta Private Rest House!
It is very secluded, far from the hustle and bustle of a city and the view itself will relieve your stress. You breathe in fresh air and you will forget all your deadlines at work or whatever your worries are.
We brought food, meat and fish for grilling, my birthday cake, drinks and after lunch went straight to the pool. While swimming you will enjoy the view of Taal Lake and Mt. Maculot. You will silently wish you own the place or buy it for whatever amount if only you could afford it.
Tierra Cuta Private Rest House
Tierra Cuta is a private rest house located at Sta. Teresita, Alitagtag, Batangas. This is not yet open to public and you can go there by referral only. But I think they will open it to public very soon. They’re constructing rooms overlooking Taal Lake and I assume it will be a glass wall. I cannot wait for it to finish so we can stay overnight and experience staying in a room with such great view. I know I said it many times already but the scenery is what you usually see on your desktop’s or phone’s wallpaper. It is so postcard perfect.
1 fully air conditioned room good for 6 persons for Php 8000
2 fully air conditioned rooms good for 4 persons for Php 4000

Day tour is available for Php 250 per person, 3 years old kids and below are free of charge. It includes the use of the gazebo house, cooking and grilling area, two large swimming pools and jacuzzi. Inside the gazebo, you can play billiards, pingpong and mahjongg. If you want to sing your hearts out, you can also use the videoke but do not forget to bring Php 5 peso coins.
How to Get There
You can ride a bus or jeepney going to Lemery and drop off at PTT gasoline station at Sta. Cruz, Alitagtag, Batangas. Then rent a tricycle to take you to the place. All the locals know where this private rest house is located and you can ask for directions.
If by car, drive straight to Sta. Teresita, Alitagtag, Batangas. You will pass by PTT gasoline station and once you see the welcome arch landmark going to Sta. Teresita, go right. Do not go straight to the welcome arch and drive right. You will pass by Ataalaya Farmhouse. Tierra Cuta is at a dead end if you go straight, it is secluded and safe.
How to Book a Reservation
This place is not for a large group, they only allowed 25 to 30 persons. Since this is on a referral basis only, you could try and call the caretaker, Lina. She’s very accommodating, will ask you every now and then if you need something.

If you cannot book a room or go on a day tour, you can also go to Noni’s Resort. They also have the same picturesque view and they’re open to public.
