Seda Vertis North in the midst of pandemic
Seda Vertis North is right in the heart of Quezon city. It is just few steps to Vertis North and Trinoma malls where you can shop from international and home-grown fashion and dining brands. This makes Seda a perfect place for a family staycation or a barkada get away.
According to their official FB page, Seda Vertis North is the first large format hotel of the Seda brand, offering facilities for conventions and major social events and with 438 stylishly designed rooms.
Back when everything was normal, I would bet that Seda is a top choice for staycations. But now with the pandemic, how do they keep up with the new normal?
In compliance with the current safety and travel restrictions, Seda only accepts booking for the following:
- Guests with existing bookings (as of March 17, 2020 within Luzon and as of May 1, 2020 outside Luzon)
- Foreign Guests transiting through or staying short-term
- Long Staying Guests
- Distressed OFWs
- Repatriated OFWs in compliance with approved quarantine protocols
- Non-OFWs required to undergo facility-based quarantine
- Stranded Passengers
- Government employees and workers of its agencies, especially front-liners and other critical services workers
- Health care workers and employees of establishments allowed to operate during the MECQ and located within the same zone
In line with my work, I had to stay in Seda Vertis North for a couple of months back in July until November. Leisure bookings are still not allowed at this time.
What are the changes? The hotel restaurant used to offer an exquisite and flavorful food choices featuring a buffet menu and a la carte selection. Due to the current health protocols like social distancing, Misto restaurant was closed for few months.
The good thing is, they serve individually packed breakfast to be picked up in the front desk. Lunch and dinner are also available for in-room dining and take away. It was only last November when they re-opened the restaurant, but with strict implementation of social distancing.
Hotel Amenities, housekeeping and room service
In compliance with the safety standards , the pool , gym and spa are closed so there was really nothing to do around the hotel. I have to say that the hotel is really doing great with the sanitation and disinfection of the guest rooms and as well as the common areas.
Daily cleaning is done and room misting is available upon request. Upon check in, they also provide hygiene kit with an alcohol, pair of face masks and wet wipes. Alcohol stations are also available in the elevator and in lobby.
I have to be honest that at first I was a bit worried when I learned that the hotel also serves as quarantine facility to returning OFW’s who are waiting for their PCR test result. I raised the concern with the hotel management and they clarified that there are certain floors which are designated as quarantine facility.
These guests are not allowed to leave their room and have no access to other areas. They have assigned personnel to cater to their needs and I got assurance from management that the safety of all guests is their utmost priority. In short, I felt safe during my whole stay, anyhow, I didn’t go anywhere in the hotel except my room.
It was a pleasure staying in Seda! I would like to commend the hotel staffs for the wonderful service and of course a special thanks to the hotel manager Ms. Angella for the warm welcome and for being so helpful and approachable!
